The LoDi-83-AC is a powerful 8-channel AC decoder for the DCC and Motorola protocols, ideal for controlling up to 4 turnouts or signals. With true AC voltage (14–22 V), it ensures reliable switching operations and prevents coil drive magnetization. Each of the 8 channels delivers up to 1 A, with a maximum total load of 2 A. The decoder is RailCom-compatible, can be programmed directly on the track, and is therefore perfectly suited for future-proof model railway control.
The LoDi-83-AC is an innovative AC voltage decoder for the DCC and Motorola protocols, developed based on the proven LoDi Operator 4-WD-AC—now with 8 channels for even more connection options.
✅ 8 outputs with 1 A load capacity each
✅ Maximum total output: 2 A
✅ AC voltage between 14 V and 22 V
✅ RailCom compatible – Programming directly on the track
✅ Compatible with DCC & Motorola
✅ Overload protection on each output
✅ No remanence effect thanks to true AC voltage
✅ Ideal for solenoids, motorized turnouts, lamps, stop sections, and vintage coil drives
Many solenoid and coil drives on the market are designed for AC voltage. When powered with DC, there's a risk of unwanted magnetization (remanence), which can result in weak or stuck drives. The LoDi-83-AC delivers true AC voltage to ensure strong, reliable switching and a longer lifespan for your components.
✔ Solenoid and motorized turnout drives
✔ Signal and lighting control
✔ Stop sections, vintage coils & universal motors
✔ Layouts with DCC or Motorola control centers
The LoDi-83-AC is fully RailCom compatible. You can program the decoder live on the track—no need for complicated rewiring or an external programmer.
Each of the 8 outputs is individually protected against overload, ensuring safe and reliable operation even in large and complex layouts.
With the LoDi-83-AC, you're choosing a modern, robust, and high-performance AC voltage decoder that controls your turnouts, signals, and other components safely and efficiently—just as your digital model railway deserves.
